Women's Wellness & Fertility Centre

Every fertility treatment does not need IVF. Nor does it start with IUI or IVF. Sometimes, a basic correction in the body is good enough. Intervention in dietary habits, body and mind exercises and positive spirit alone can achieve the results. At nandhini-pearl, we give high priority to the body and mind. Fertility treatment starts with physical and mental wellness.

Fertility and Nutrition

Nutrition has a strong correlation with fertility

  • Anovulation, lowered estrogen levels, and an increased chance of miscarriage can result from being underweight.
  • Regular menstruation is impacted by obesity.
  • Obesity might cause problems with ovulation and reduce the effectiveness of reproductive medications.
  • Women who are obese are more likely to experience hypertension, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, miscarriage, or toxemia.
  • Insulin resistance, which results in hormone abnormalities in the ovaries, is associated with PCOS.
  • The regular cycle of ovulation might be disrupted by hormonal abnormalities.
  • With or without PCOS, being overweight can throw off the balance of sex hormones.
  • A steady androgen production is necessary for regular ovulation and conception, and excess abdominal fat can contribute to this production.
  • Overweight can lead to brain imbalances in the pituitary and hypothalamus hormones, which are necessary for regular ovulation.
  • Elevated insulin because of being overweight.
The best diet is to maximize your fertility is one that improves a healthy body and, thus, a healthy reproductive system. Too much processed or high-fat food and too little physical activity raise our obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. Everything in moderation is a good maxim to remember. We need to eat a well-balanced diet and exercise regularly.
Meal skipping upsets the normal equilibrium of a working metabolism. The body may interpret undernourishment as a sign that there is not enough food, which could indicate that now is not the best time to get pregnant. In addition, overindulging in unhealthy foods can interfere with the delicate hormonal balance your body needs in order to become pregnant.
There are several methods to get your body ready for pregnancy, such as adopting a nutritious diet that will increase the amount of important vitamins and minerals in your diet and increase your chance of becoming pregnant.

Try these:

  • Fruits and Vegetables: Eating more fruits and high vegetables can help replace higher-calorie items without making you feel hungry. They also provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytochemicals, which are plant nutrients that fight disease.
  • Healthful Proteins: Good sources of protein include meat, chicken, fish, eggs, beans, soy products, nuts, seeds, and low-fat dairy products. These meals also supply essential vitamins and minerals, are higher in filling value than carbohydrates, and prolong feelings of fullness. Men need 63 grams of good protein per day, but women only need 50 grams.
  • Homemade Foods: Reduce the amount of fat you consume by dining out less and by consuming less fried or highly oil- and butter-sauced foods. Studies have linked greater incidences of infertility to consumption of trans fats, which are harmful and can be found in processed foods.
  • Whole Grains: choosing whole grain bread, fiber-containing cereals, brown rice, and other unprocessed grains. At nandhini-pearl, we help you find a good balance with the help of a Nutritionist (by appointment).

Fertility and Nutrition

Each person is unique mentally and physically. He or she needs an individual approach. What suits one may not be the best for the other.
At nandhini-pearl, we recognize this fact. We do not generalize and categorize our patients. We do not make any assumptions. We look for information and data (based on diagnostic tests) as to why they are not conceiving and choose the specific treatment option that yields best results. Without wasting time or money. That sets us apart from other Fertility Centres.

Body & Mind calmness

Stress is caused by numerous things. Time, money, failed cycles, jealousy of a friend’s pregnancy, missing vacation days, inquiries about your fertility status from friends and family, offers of free counsel, and a host of other issues.
Stress management is a difficult task that frequently leaves you feeling alone and alone. Thankfully, you are not by yourself. Your experience is common and natural. However, it doesn’t aid in your ability to become pregnant.
For this reason, the Mind/Body Program for Fertility is available at our Wellness Center.
This program aims to help you reclaim your life, return to the person you were before attempting to establish a family, and feel whole and well as you pursue your ambition of being a parent.
People at any stage of therapy can receive assistance from our program, which can be held via Zoom. Through the program, individuals can regain control over their lives, acquire coping mechanisms for therapy, and adopt lifestyle choices that lead to happiness and good health.

Lifestyle changes

The rate at which male and female fertility are declining can be influenced by a few specific activities, including:
  • Usage of illegal drugs, such as cocaine, marijuana, or anabolic steroids
  • Drinking alcohol can result in erectile dysfunction, lower testosterone levels, and decreased sperm production.
  • smoking, which lowers the number of sperm
  • Obesity can have a direct effect on sperm or alter hormone levels, which lowers male fertility.
  • A natural remedy involves reducing exposure to the aforementioned chemicals and raising BMI.

Acupuncture

We encourage providing acupuncture treatments in-house that coincide with IUI and IVF processes. Our acupuncture specialist and you will work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your needs. We set up times for acupuncture treatments.

We recommend fertility acupuncture just before and right after IUI and IVF treatments
How acupuncture can help
  • Improve decreased ovarian reserve markers to increase the likelihood of successful IVF embryo transfers.
  • Restores hormone balance and the menstrual cycle to normal. Promotes the general health of your body throughout pregnancy, increasing the chance of a good delivery.
  • Enhances the success of conception in those who have suffered repeated miscarriages.
  • Increases the uterine and ovarian blood flow, which can enhance the quality of eggs and increase the likelihood of a successful implantation.
  • Restores ovulation in cases when Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) has caused cessation of ovulation.
Coordinated treatments
You will meet with an acupuncture practitioner at the nandhini-pearl IVF Wellness Center one hour prior to your scheduled treatment on the day of your embryo transfer.
There will be an acupuncture treatment for thirty minutes. Acupuncture points are used during the pre-transfer procedure to help widen the cervix and facilitate simpler embryo entry. Other locations are utilized to relax your uterus and lessen cramps and contractions by calming your nervous system. Additional acupuncture points contribute to increased uterine lining thickness by enhancing blood circulation to the uterus. The procedure improves uterine receptivity and is relaxing.
You will return to our fertility wellness center shortly after your doctor completes the embryo transfer, and your acupuncturist will administer a second session of acupuncture. In post-transfer care, acupuncture points are used to assist pump more blood to the uterus while also focusing on relaxing the nervous system. This helps to avoid contractions, feeds the just implanted embryo, and increases the likelihood of a successful implantation.
Acupuncture helps patients relax and reduces the cramps and spasms that are sometimes related to IVF and IUI treatments. These effects last for 24 to 48 hours following the operation. This one-time alternative is a stand-alone treatment with a better success rate than no acupuncture at all, even though we advise patients to engage in a longer-term fertility acupuncture program.
