Dr. Chitra Shankar
is a well experienced gynecologist, obstetrician and IVF specialist with over 3 decades of committed work with more than 20,000 + deliveries in her profession.
She passed MD in O&G with credits from Gandhi medical college Hyderabad. She has also become a Member of Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, UK (MRCOG). She successfully completed Diploma in Reproductive Medicine from university of Kiel, Germany and continues to constantly update herself in the field of ART by attending national and international conferences and symposium. She is keen to learn new techniques and recent advances in the area of reproductive medicine so as to pass on the benefits towards improving patient care.
During her 10 year period of work in the Armed Forces Hospital in the sultanate of Oman she gained vast experience in the field of high risk pregnancy and won a lot of accolades from patients and her mentors. Having been trained by eminent doctors during that period, she achieved clinical excellence awards and presented papers in the pan Arabian conferences. She has been the Chair-person and panelist on several Fertility Forums and is a popular speaker on Webinars.
She is a Fellow in Minimal Access Laparoscopy Surgery (FMAS) from Lifeline Institute of Telesurgery. Due to her keen interest in microsurgery she got trained at the centre for excellence at the Kilpauk medical college, chennai in tubal micro surgery procedures. She was associated with NOVA IVI (Spain) as IVF consultant earlier and is associated with renowned hospitals such as Apollo, Lifeline, Chettinadd, Durgabhai Deshmukh and Kamakshi Memorial Hospital. She is also the director and fertility consultant at Sampath Gowri clinic for women’s health and fertility care. Her venture into pearl Singapore and fertility centre is a dream come true to serve all societies of patients requiring fertility treatments to offer them quality care at affordable cost. Being a multi-linguistic person, she can converse in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Arabic and English.
