How can you help reduce your cancer risk?

  • It is possible that changes or actions we take could prevent nearly half of adult cancer cases.
  • Avoid using tobacco.
  • Try to get as much exercise as you can.
  • Consume a diet richer in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Limit or stay away from red meat, processed foods, sugar-filled beverages, and refined carbohydrates.
  • It is preferable to abstain from drinking. If you do drink, limit your intake to one drink per day for women.
  • Keep the sun off of your skin
  • Understand your risks, your family history, and who you are.
  • Get recommended cancer screening tests and routine checkups.
